Audrey's First Ski Trip

Winter has made it's way to Western Oregon early this year so Audrey and I thought we would head up and see how the snow pack is coming along. We went with plenty of clothing and milk and scored a great day. We left the valley with overcast and cool temperatures and found a beautifully sunny and cold day up above. Audrey enjoyed her first snow day, she spent most of it amazed with the large trees, sunshine, and white fluffy stuff as you'll see below.

Life Back to Normal

Audrey is 6 months old! She is learning so much every week. She is now rolling over all the time and is close to being able to stay sitting up on her own. She's pretty fun to hang out with right now & we are so glad that we are both able to spend time with her together rather than switching off duties while one of us works in the bathroom.

Trying out some Thanksgiving mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes.

After 3 months, almost to the day, our bathroom is finally finished just in time to have people over for Thanksgiving. It has been a long project but it ended up turning out pretty good.

Audrey Updates

Here are some pictures of Audrey from the last month or so. Finished pictures of our bathroom will be posted in the next couple of days - we just have a little bit more work on the "accessorizing" of the bathroom, but the main part is all done - FINALLY!

Audrey started rolling over a few weeks ago and about a week before that we were in San Diego. She was moving all over the place trying to figure out how to roll - she definitely had some interesting positions. Here's her goofing around with Grandma.

She was even dreaming of rolling over. I kept finding her like this asleep. It didn't look very comfortable, but every time I would try moving her, she would just go right back to that position.

Hanging out with Great-Grandma Wilde.

She doesn't really ever stay laying on her back for long anymore now that she has a new trick.

In sticking with the spirit of Audrey posing in all of our water holding appliances, here she is in our new bathroom sink.

Trying her first bites of rice cereal.

Trying her first bananas which she liked much better than rice cereal. She was even licking them off her high chair tray.

Isn't she the cutest teddy bear you've ever seen?

Hanging out with her giraffe that cousin Natalie made.

Halloween

We are a little behind on our posts and having a few problems getting cameras to upload pictures right now, but here are a few pictures from when Brooke & Audrey were in San Diego the week before Halloween. More pictures will be posted in the next few days.

Audrey loves the water. We are planning to do swim lessons starting in January.

We went to Grandma Wilde's for a Halloween party where everyone goes all out in their costumes. Audrey was a ballerina...thanks for the tutu Jen!

Everyone was so creative in their costumes!

Fall is Upon Us

Greetings all - fall has arrived here in the Northwest and we all know what that means - that's right the outdoor shower is getting cold. Brooke and I have continued to plug away at it and it's getting closer, maybe, at least it seems that way. But enough about us and the shower we know why people read this and it's not those things. It's Audrey and she is getting so big!

She has more than doubled in size since her birth and she can almost sit up. She's good enough at it that she can now ride in the kid carrier and take in the sights when we go for walks or work outside.

Well there's not much else to report so here's a bunch of photos from the last month.

Fist bump?

Updates

There are definitely not enough hours in the day!!! Ever since our bathroom remodel began, Matt has been working tirelessly every night after work on getting our bathroom back to working condition. We are still showering outside, except it won't be too much longer...we hope...before we have full use of our new shower.

I'm sure most of you would rather see pictures of Audrey instead of our bathroom, so here are some taken in the last few weeks. She is growing up so fast and has been so fun recently. She is giggling and smiling all the time. Last week I had to go back to work and Audrey started going to daycare 3 days a week. It was really hard leaving her, but I have been able to go and feed her during my lunches and have been busy at work which makes the day go by quickly. It will take a little time for her, and us, to adjust but the daycare providers are really nice and love having her there.

Audrey with dad at Uncle Conor & Aunt Erin's wedding reception.

With Great-Grandma Wilde.

With Grandma & Papa Riley. Grandma definitely has the magic touch for getting her to sleep.

We set up Audrey's high chair this past weekend since she is able to mostly hold herself up now. It was fun having her sit with us at the table while we had breakfast.

We have a tree in our backyard that has the perfect little seat on it for Audrey to hang out.

Since we didn't have use of our shower, and Audrey seems to be getting dirtier more often, we had to find new ways of washing her. Thank goodness she can now take a bath in her new tub :-)

For those of you who want to see updates of the bathroom, here is what is going on. The side of the house has now been reframed and fitted with a smaller window. Matt put in an incandescent light in the shower, put insulation in the walls this time around, installed a new cast iron bathtub, re-fitted the plumbing, learned how to and successfully soldered copper pipes and hung the hardie backer. We are having a guy come out tomorrow to give us an estimate on the drywall and getting the walls textured and we are ready to tile the shower. Matt got the tiles today, so hopefully we can be showering this weekend or early next week. This all comes down to me now that Matt has done the hard work. I am in charge of tiling & painting - none of which I have ever done, but Matt did a great job with his part, so I can't let him show me up. Here are a few progress pictures.
